This llama vase called "The Streets of Cuzco" and is made of ceramic. It was actually made in The Andes Mountains which is along the border between Bolivia and Peru. It measures 11.5" tall, 5" wide at the very top. 6.5" wide at its widest point and 4" across on the very bottom. It weighs 3 lbs 8 ozs before being packaged up for shipment.
The spectacular painting adorning this vase depicts a common scene in the streets of ancient Cuzco - a llama and a highlander wandering down a narrow lane. The artist demonstrates fine ceramic work in a piece he names "The Streets of Cuzco." Inspired by the sights of his people and the Andean culture, he creates this work using contrasting colors and vibrant geometric shapes. To create his wonderful ceramics, the artist first shapes the piece and smoothes it with sandpaper. Then it is soaked in water to remove any bubbles that may burst under the picture once it is painted. It is dried, then painted with a white base, dried again, and sanded once more. After this last surface sanding, it is finally painted, then given a coat of lacquer .
This item is very unique.The colors are mostly reddish browns with a few other colors mixed in. All lovers of llamas would love to display this vase with their other llama collection.
